MA MARGARET’S HOUSE IN REEDVILLE, VIRGINIA PAMPERS YOU WITH SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY AT ITS FINEST
I have to rave a little bit about Ma Margaret’s House. This pretty bed and breakfast inn in Reedville, Virginia is run by former restaurant entrepreneur Alva Jackson. It is the house her grandparents built, and where she and her siblings grew up on a family compound. It’s where she learned how to cook and entertain like Southern ladies do.
Alva has added on, and renovated the house into a sparkling little gem of a country inn. The gardens are gorgeous. Nearly every room has a balcony, making for lots of private spaces even if the place is full.
I’m going to let the photo gallery speak for itself, but I have to tell you that the price was ridiculously cheap for the experience we had!
The food was aMAzing, as my daughter would say. Top shelf. And it kept just coming and coming, till we yelled: “Please, stop!” and rolled ourselves away from the table! The rooms are gorgeous.
I won’t say I haven’t enjoyed Southern hospitality before or I’m likely to offend a couple of dear friends – but I’ve frankly never experienced it quite like this!
I’m ’bout to get bourgie. I know I’ll be going back! Thank you, Miss Alva! We had a great time!!!
