Karen founded The Allyson Group in 1991 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her first jobs out of college put her inside award-winning graphic design firms. There she developed an appreciation for great design and subtle, elegant typography.
The Allyson Group's services back then were writing, copyediting, book editing, early self-publishing, and media relations.
In the beginning we wrote company newsletters, annual reports, and marketing copy. The primary tool of the trade was the Selectric typewriter. But soon enough came the PC: the MacIntosh, the IBM (with the DOS operating system), and the IBM clone.
Today, we have come a long way. Websites, blogs, and social media are all well integrated with an organization’s core marketing program.
All these platforms require content. That’s where we come in.
