These days, I am finding everything posted by NYU’s Jay Rosen (@jayrosen_nyu) absolutely fascinating, as he explores the cutting edge of publishing and social media.
This piece from PBS about a “crowdsourced” magazine put together in 48 hours is a prime example.
In the same tweet, Rosen calls our attention to two Journal Register franchises (the News-Herald in Lake County, Ohio and the Perkasie News-Herald in Perkasie, Pa.) that put together two websites and newspapers – one daily and one weekly – using only free web-based tools.
The future of for-profit publishing in this wild, wacky world we find ourselves in? Those questions are being answered, little by little, every day!
